i-psy has clinics in three large cities. Will there be a clinic in my area in the near future?
That is very possible. i-psy chooses to be present in places where our target group resides. Specializing in counselling emigrants and expatiates, we opened our three clinics in AmsterdamThe Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. But i-psy is a rapidly growing organisation, which will in time open clinics in other locations.

I don't live near a clinic. Can I still be treated by i-psy?
That depends to some extent on the travelling distance. Certainly when you have to come to us for treatment regularly, the extra travelling time can pose an extra burden. But it is often possible. Go ahead and ask at the clinic of your choice.

I can't express myself adequately in Dutch. Do your practitioners speak my language, too?
Many of i-psy's practitioners speak other languages in addition to Dutch and, because of this, they can often treat you in your native language. There are practitioners, working for I-Psy, who speak English, French, Russian, Hebrew, Polish, Turkish, Farsi, Papiamento, Berbers, Arabic, for example. When you apply, you can state whether you wish to be treated in a particular language, other than Dutch. We will try to meet your wishes to the best of our knowledge and experience.

I would like to be treated by a therapist of my own gender and age group. Does i-psy take this into consideration?
Yes, certainly. We respect everybody's convictions. For that matter, many of our clients express one or the other preferences, for different reasons.

How much does a course of treatment cost?
The cost depends largely on the type of treatment and its length. But it is fully covered by the AWBZ. For a few forms of therapy, the insurance requires payment for a small fragment of the cost of the session. Your practitioner will give you more information before the treatment begins.

Algemene Wet Bijzondere Ziektekosten, is the Dutch policy for special medical costs. It relates to conditions outside the individually insured regular policy. On the basis of this law, an individual will be covered, for instance for a prolonged hospitalization and refunded, not through the insurance company, but on basis of AWBZ.
